You don’t have to hire a design team or agency to make your Instagram feed look good - but you do have to put in a little bit of TLC.
A main focus for a lot of my clients is maximising their brand presence while using the least resources. Many entrepreneurs think they have to throw a lot of money at their brand and marketing efforts to make them work, but the truth is there are a few simple tools you can use to get good results without the investment.
I want to introduce one of these tools to you today - the online design platform Canva.
Canva is free (it does have a paid version), extremely user friendly and easy to use. It uses templates and simple elements - text, shapes, images - to allow you to put together any size image you want. Logging on, you are welcomed with a screen that presents to you top picks for templates for anything you may need - from posters and newsletters, to Instagram posts and Twitter headers.
Once you choose a template, you can change all elements within it - colors, shapes, images - anything! And, as we are talking about Instagram, I would like to point out all the different categories they have, just for Instagram:
My recommendation to you is:
- Pick a few templates you like that you believe work well together
- Change the colours and fonts on these templates to match your basic branding
- Rotate between these templates when posting on your Instagram feed
- Make sure any posts on your feed don’t clash with the templates in terms of colours
- Find similar templates to use on your stories and ads as well
And that’s it!
Send me screenshots of your Instagram feeds, I would love to see what you are doing :)
All the best,
Monica
